London’s E2 is a real melting pot! It features a wide range of people and places, history and modern day. It’s increasingly becoming a popular place to live and work, not least because it is right next to the financial heart of the city.
It has excellent transportation links too. There are mainline stations in all four areas and Bethnal Green Underground station offers access to the tube network via the Central Line, with services running east-west between Epping and Ealing Broadway.
E2 is famous for its historical connection with the silk industry. Shoreditch, meanwhile, is an extremely popular part of London, notably with web technology companies who base their head offices around Old Street. The postcode area features the famous Broadway Market at the heart of the community, which offers a wide range of speciality shops, cafes and restaurants and a weekly farmers’ market. There are also some beautiful buildings, green open spaces and parks, including Haggerston Park, Shoreditch Park, London Fields and Victoria Park. The picturesque Regent’s Canal runs through E2.
