Fleet has expanded significantly in the past few decades with large housing developments bringing its total population to around 35,000, new shopping centres and the opening of several business parks. Its position in relation to the capital and other big business hubs remains a key advantage, though. Fleet is located just 36 miles southwest of London and 10 miles east of Basingstoke. Fleet can be reached from London and Southampton via the M3 motorway, the nearest junction being 4A. Fleet railway station is served by trains between London Waterloo, Basingstoke and Southampton. Journey time to Waterloo is about 50 minutes; express trains do the journey in under 40 minutes.
Stepping out of the office for just a moment, Fleet is also admired for its location amidst countryside. The Fleet Pond nature reserve is a notable beauty spot on the northern edge of the town, which brings several people to the area.
