Office space in Southwick

If, like us, you do love to be beside the seaside, why not take a look at Southwick on the south coast for your next office space? It’s only down the road from chi-chi Brighton, but the prices should be a bit lower for all that. And there’s a handy marina if you fancy parking the yacht nearby; so dive in to the Office Genie guide to office space for rent in Southwick.

Why rent offices in Southwick?

Southwick is a small coastal town in West Sussex, lying five miles west of Brighton. It’s a suburb of the city of Brighton & Hove and forms part of the south coast urban stretch from Brighton to Worthing. To the north, the town is bounded by the chalk hills of the South Downs.

Southwick has three main areas. There’s the harbour, south of the A259 coast road, which includes a marina and is part of the proposed plans for development under the Shoreham Harbour Regeneration scheme. North of this is a largely residential area, with properties dating from the Victorian period to the 1950s.

Finally there is more modern residential development running further north towards the Downs. Southwick has an open-air shopping centre, Southwick Square, complete with community centre and library, and there’s also the Barn Theatre, converted from an 18th Century barn in 1951.

The main route through Southwick is the A259 coast road which connects Southwick to Shoreham and Brighton. Running to the north is the faster A27 which bypasses the town. Brighton is a 25 minute drive, while Worthing to the west is 20 minutes away by road. Southampton is a two-hour drive. Crawley and the M23 are 30 minutes by road to the north via the nearby A23. Further on is Croydon, just over an hour away. Gatwick Airport is handy too – it’s just a 40-minute drive, or just over 45 minutes on the train via Brighton.

Southwick is served by Southwick railway station, with four trains per hour to Brighton (a 12-minute journey), a half-hourly service to West Worthing (about 15 minutes), and an hourly service to Southampton (1.5 hours) and Portsmouth Harbour (just over an hour).

Female executive networking club the Athena Network runs a West Hove and Southwick group, while there are two local Chambers of Commerce – Sussex and the local Worthing and Adur branch.
