Office space in Cambridgeshire

From the dreaming spires and high tech start-ups of Cambridge to the manufacturing and media stronghold of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire is a great location for businesses looking for offices to rent. Heritage university city? Check. Charming villages and countryside? Check. Business support and advice? Check. Welcome to Office Genie’s guide to the county that could well be the perfect place for your new offices.

Why rent offices in Cambridgeshire?

So what does Cambridgeshire have to offer businesses? Well, most obviously there’s ‘Silicon Fen’. This cluster of high-tech businesses has grown up in and around Cambridge, drawing in venture capital money and a talented pool of labour. There’s a big focus on software, electronics and biotechnology and the area has a high concentration of start-up businesses. It also has a very flexible job market, helped by organisations such as the Cambridge Network, which fosters recruitment and business collaboration.

Transport links are good, too. Cambridge is 50 minutes from London Kings Cross by train, while the A1(M) links Cambridgeshire with London, Peterborough and the East Midlands, the M11 will take you to Essex, and the A14 links Cambridgeshire to the Midlands and East Anglia.

Strike out a bit from Cambridge itself and you’ll market towns such as Huntingdon, Ramsey, St Ives and St Neots, and many attractive villages. The area around Huntingdon has a healthy local economy and lower property prices, and is commutable to Cambridge, for example. There are excellent transport links via the A1(M) and A14, plus frequent rail links to London, with journey times of about an hour.
