Musselburgh is East Lothian’s main shopping centre.
Plans are to provide new opportunities in the area that will support local economic growth and reduce out-commuting, hopefully increasing in-commuting! This will be aided by good transport links: By road the A199 goes through the High Street to Edinburgh in the west and Dunbar to the east. Musselburgh is also served Musselburgh railway station, which is in the west of the town and has regular services from Edinburgh Waverley to North Berwick.
