Office space in Wallsend

If you’re looking for an office to rent in the buzzing north-east, with some intriguing history and great connections to Scotland and the UK capital, why not take a look at our guide to Wallsend and see what’s on offer.

Why rent offices in Wallsend?

As its name suggests, Wallsend is a location, yes, at the end of a wall. Hadrian’s Wall to be precise – which is why this area in North Tyneside, just east of Newcastle city centre has a particular fondness for the ancient Romans. You’ll find public information signs in both English and Latin throughout the town, as well as at Wallsend Metro Station.

In more recent history, Wallsend was known for coal mining and shipbuilding. The local Swan Hunter shipyard saw the launching of famous ships such as the RMS Mauretania, which held the Blue Riband for the fastest trans-Atlantic crossing during the 1920s.

Now, Wallsend is a busy area of North Tyneside. North of the High Street, the main shopping area, is the historic and picturesque Wallsend Green. The Georgian Wallsend Hall lies in its own grounds and offers a conference and event venue. There’s also a golf club and a local boys football club. Among its famous alumni is Newcastle United and England footballer Alan Shearer.

Wallsend certainly doesn’t lack business facilities. The Grade II-listed Wallsend Town Hall dates from 1908 and has been refurbished as a modern business hub and conference centre. The area falls under the North East Chamber of Commerce, which offers training, support and networking events.

Newcastle Airport is a 50-minute journey by Metro. Wallsend is just 15 minutes from the coastal town of North Shields, and also six stops from the mainline railway station, a journey of 20 minutes. Connections from there include London, a three-hour journey, and Edinburgh, an hour-and-a-half away.
