Office space in Barrhead

Welcome to the Barrhead section of Office Genie. The main town in East Renfrewshire, Scotland, and just eight miles away from the city of Glasgow, Barrhead is an increasingly attractive area for businesses to rent offices, particularly as it undergoes a huge modernisation plan. If you’re looking to move your business to the area, and there are plenty of reasons to, take a look through the rental opportunities and guidance we’ve collated on this very page.

Why rent Barrhead offices?

East Renfrewshire Council has committed nearly £100 million to develop Barrhead’s economy. The town’s Glasgow Road corridor is being redeveloped into a dedicated business district, opening up fantastic opportunities for more businesses to operate there.

Today there are already four industrial estates and several independent businesses are growing successfully there, such as Barrhead Travel, Kelburn Brewing Company, and JM Murdoch & Son. The town is attracting big names too, such as Tesco and Asda, which opened a store on Main Street in recent years. Also close to the town is Silverburn, one of the largest shopping centres in the UK.

Barrhead’s population is estimated at around 20,000 and it is drawing more and more people from outside of the town since developing into a commuter town for Paisley, the largest town in the county of Renfrewshire, and Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow. Excellent transport links have made this possible. Barrhead sits near to the M77 motorway, making it easily accessible by road, and it has a railway station with regular services to Glasgow, Kilmarnock, Stranraer and Carlisle. Trains run four times per hour from Barrhead to Glasgow Central and two terminate here from Glasgow. There is one service per hour to Kilmarnock and six per day to Carlisle. Local bus services are also available, which travel from Barrhead to Glasgow and Paisley

In addition to all of these commercial benefits, Barrhead also sits on the edge of the Gleniffer Braes, a range of hills and park area, which attract lots of people to the area. The park provides a variety of activities and sights including walks, play areas and waterfalls as well as stunning views.
