However, success in Manchester does not just lie in its past but in its future too. Billions have been invested into this city and the benefits are already starting to be felt.
Location, Location, Location
Location is key to Manchester's success in attracting a vast number of top companies. In central Manchester 65 of the FTSE 100 companies are located here. This sort of expertise can greatly benefit your company as you have all the key services within your reach, as well as the possibility to form important links and contacts that could benefit you in the future.
Anyway back to location. Situated on the river Irwell, it is the UK's 3rd largest conurbation. Not only does it have the standard road and rail networks required from a major city, it also has an extensive tram network. The Metrolink is an example of the significant investment in the area. The tram line will soon connect the city to the international airport which is 10 miles south. Not only does it have the large cities of Liverpool, Leeds and Sheffield within close proximity, but London is accessible too. Despite the distance being 164miles, the flight is only half an hour and the train takes about 2hours.

There are plenty of opportunities for these talented graduates. The city is known for research due to the Manchester Science Parks and the region's history (home to Ernest Rutherford who was first to split the atom as well as many other other scientists). With more than 60 banking institutions located here and employing over 15,000 people, it is no wonder that the thriving metropolis has earned a reputation of being a commercial and financial centre.
